The breathing ball is a tool to achieve a calm and serene inner state. Ball gets bigger = breathe in, ball gets smaller = breathe out.The so-called heart coherence is activated with this rhythm. This means that when you breathe in, you gain momentum through activation of the sympathetic nervous system, and when you breathe out, you gain momentum through the blossoming of the parasympathetic nervous system.
